  • Which suppliers do you use?
We aim to work with suppliers who share similar values to us. We spend a lot of time researching the best options, to find partners who are; local, ethical, environmentally engaged and striving to reduce their packaging. However, it’s not always possible for our suppliers to tick all these boxes, as the perfect solution doesn’t always exist. But we can guarantee that we are all dedicated to working together, to provide a more sustainable way of living.
  • Do your products contain any nasties?
We strive to avoid nasties whenever possible! Our aim is to source sustainable products that limit the impact we have on the environment and the communities in which these are produced. We favour organic products to help preserve biodiversity. Plus, all our cleaning products are planet-friendly (free from SLS) and supplied in circular packaging, to reduce the production of plastic. If you want to find out more, come visit the store. Our friendly staff are always on hand to help and we pride ourselves on our transparent & informative labelling, so you'll be sure to find the answers to all your questions!
  • How do your prices compare to other products in the market?
We try our best to be as affordable as possible. We buy in bulk to reduce packaging, so our margins are lower. Plus, our business is run entirely by volunteers, so we don’t have high operating costs. This means some products are great value for money, such as our refillable cleaning & household products. However, others might be a little more expensive to ensure we can provide you with; beautiful quality, environmentally friendly, organically produced and handmade items. By shopping at Filling Good you can be sure the money you spend will be used ethically, as all our profits will mainly be reinvested in our store or used to support local charities – so supporting us means you are helping to sustain the wellbeing of the planet & your local community.
  • Do you provide reusable refill containers in the shop?
We have containers available for some of the cleaning products. However, we want to encourage the reduction of single use plastics, so we prefer you to bring your own. These can be anything from: old takeaway cartons, ice cream tubs, jam jars or cotton bags. This way you can avoid sending your plastic to landfill or recycling it and instead just keep reusing it again and again! Just make sure they are thoroughly washed before refilling.
  • How do I know how much to purchase of each product?
Take a look at our handy weight & measures guide, to see the typical weights sold in the supermarkets, weight per portion/serving, cooking times and much more - just click here
  • How do I volunteer to work for Filling Good?
You need to be a member before you can volunteer. If you wish to be a part of our adventure, then head over to our membership page.
  • Where can I park?
There’s lots of parking near to our shop, to take a look at what works best for you just click here. The Hines Meadow car park is just a 5-minute walk away and Sainsbury's will reimburse the cost of up to 2hrs parking when you spend over £15. They process the refund at the tills, so can only do this if you have not used the Ringo App. Or you can park just up the road at Waitrose and you'll get 2hrs free parking. There's no need to buy a ticket, but don't run over as they use number plate recognition to clock how long you've stayed.
  • What measures are in place to protect against the risk of infection?
We are regularly handwashing and sanitising. We researched the benefit of gloves, but they are not ideal at preventing cross-contamination, and they create more waste which doesn’t help our planet. We sanitise all containers and surfaces regularly, and abide by food health & hygiene regulations. Hand sanitiser will also be available in the store for customers to use. Plus, we have a one way system in place and a limited amount of people in store at any one time. Wearing masks is mandatory for the staff and for the customers, except if you are exempt of course. We will also have a one-way system in the shop, and ask our dear customers to observe simple social distancing rules. The number of people in the shop is going to be limited as well. We are committed to following the latest government guidelines to protect everyone.
